We’re Ben + Whit Matthews, your average outdoorsy couple who loves to explore new trails and campsites AND wander around new cities with the best cup of coffee we can find. Based in the Pacific Northwest, we love sharing the places and trails we explore in our backyard and beyond.
Our lives revolve around the outdoors. Truly. Not only have we both worked in the outdoor industry for nearly a decade, but being outside is also how we spend most of our free time. When we’re not at cozied up at home, we’re probably hiking, camping, road tripping, or some combination of all three of those. But here’s the thing: we also love fun hotels, trying new restaurants, and wandering city streets whether in our own city or somewhere new.
We’re big believers that “outdoorsy” can mean something different for everyone! You don’t have to quit your job, sell everything you own, and live in van to find great adventures. All you need is a plan and a weekend.
Ben has been a full-time freelance photographer for the last 4.5 years, shooting commercial work for brands in the outdoor industry. Check out his incredible work on his website! He loves wandering around the woods, studying maps for the best dispersed campsites, hunting & fishing, and he makes a top notch at-home latte. With a few social media manager roles under her belt, Whitney is now in influencer manager in the outdoor industry. She loves waking up in new places, anything outside in the summer, cooking for friends, and her life’s goal is to pet as many dogs as possible.
